My favourite K dramas 2020

I've did something similar some years back but I couldn't find the post. I won't be able to do comparison how much my favourites have changed.

It is okay lah. We will start from this post and try to make it and annual thingy.

Before we start, I want to talk about my favourite actors/actresses first. I would usually watch k dramas by these actors/actresses and would love them. You'll find out through out the post that this is true.

Let's start with the favourite actresses...

Jun Ji Hyun, Park Shin Hye and Gong Hyo Jin

I've been loving these actresses' dramas. My ultimate favourite actress is Jun Ji Hyun but she hardly acts now coz she's a rich tai tai (daughter in law of a super rich entrepreneur). Park Shin Hye gets better as she acts thru each drama (as well as movies). Gong Hyo Jin always got the best dramas.

My favourite actors: Gong Yoo, Kim Soo Hyun and So Ji Sub

I love almost everything I've watched from these three. Of course I've not watched like damn old ones by Gong Yoo and So Ji Sub but I think I would love it too #biased.

I also really like Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Dong Wook but they always act in terrible dramas 😐 I hope they find good ones soon. I'm having a good feeling about Lee Dong Wook's latest drama, The Tales of Nine-Tailed. Let's hope it'll be good all the way.

I used to love Park Yoo Chun's dramas but he got caught in a scandal plus drug case. Then he got kicked out of the entertainment industry. So we will probably never see him ever again 😐

These two are, in my opinion, rising actors and actresses, who will be doing great in the future. So far I've seen them shine in their dramas. I would recommend you guys to check out their dramas as well.

Now let's dive right into my favourite dramas... they are not ranked. Just post up as I remember them.

1. It's Okay Not To Be Okay

I've just finished this one recently. What I like about this (other than Kim Soo Hyun in it) is how they connect each episode with a fairy tale. Each character has their own mental health issue and they slowly dealt with it themselves or with the help of others. Everyone's acting so on point.

2. My love from the stars

Another one acted by Kim Soo Hyun...alongside another of my favourite actress, Jun Ji Hyun. This is hilarious. Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun's character) had since became my spirit animal, inspiration for life and fashion icon. Ending tho is a bit meh.

3. Hotel Del Luna

I love anything written by the Hong sisters (you will see as you go down the list). This was one of their best. It's about this girl who is trapped to run a dead people's hotel. She gets help from a bunch of ghosts and a human manager to run the hotel as well as help the dead people before they move on to the afterlife. Meh ending as well. IU is absolutely stunning in this.

4. Master's Sun

Another one by the Hong sisters and super similar to Hotel Del Luna. It's about this girl who could see dead people and is hired by this wealthy dude to get rid of ghosts in his shopping mall. Fell in love with So Ji Sub in this drama 😍😍😍

5. You are beautiful

First drama I've watched written by the Hong sisters is this one. I am not sure if this is their first drama but this is pretty different from what they would write after this one. All of their dramas are more fantasy sort of stories but this one is just a pretty normal Korean drama genre. This is about a girl who had to cross dress and be in a idol group to replace his brother who had a botched plastic surgery.

6. What's wrong with Secretary Kim?

This is super hilarious. I am not a fan of the female actress but still watched it because of Park Seo Joon hehe. It's about a secretary who is ready to leave her company after working for nine years but her boss has other plans.

7. Rooftop Prince

This is about a crown prince and four important people by his side from Joseon dynasty, traveled to current times accidentally when investigating the death of his future queen. Really funny as well.

8. Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

This drama is based on a Chinese drama which was based loosely on historic events. I've not seen the Chinese version so I couldn't compare which one is better. It is about this girl who went back to some dynasty and met the people there. The story is beautiful. I wished they followed suit with the ori Chinese drama and go with a second season which talks about things that happen in current times.

9. When Camellia blooms

This is a typical romantic genre k drama mixed in with mystery/crime genre. The main actress is haunted by a homicide case many years ago. Super ganjeong when they were trying to find the killer.

Last one now...

10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

This is a coming of age drama which is more suitable for students. I like how natural the main actors acted...probably coz both of them were dating while filming this drama.

That was my list of ten favourite k dramas for this year. What do you guys think? Is it similar to your favourites?

Alright... that's all for today. See you guys in a future post.

Bubbye 😘
